The Social Founder Network connects, supports and promotes founders in the charity and social enterprise sectors.
We provide a mix of practical and personal support, connections, stories, information and inspiration.
We share stories across the media and other stakeholders, to inform and inspire wider audiences.
We connect and support Social Founders
Together we can grow our impact
We are a network of founders, across the charity, social enterprise, NGO and community sectors, from local to global.
We support, resource and connect with each other online and face to face to grow our skills and impact, and to inspire current and future social founders.
We are connecting founders in different countries, and across borders and continents.
"I came to your event at the Good Market in Colombo and was delighted to connect with so many social founders I had never met before. It was fascinating and helpful, we had much in common, and much to share. And we'll continue to stay in touch with each other to build our impact across Sri Lanka's diverse communities. Thank you!"
We share our stories with wider audiences
Stories are a driver for social change
The Social Founder Network tells the stories of founders at all stages of their careers, providing information and inspiration to other founders, to the media and to wider audiences.
We are collecting a wide range of stories about the people and organisations connected to the Social Founder Network - our passions, drive, journeys, the good and bad times, our impact and, yes, sometimes the disasters.
Check out our Founder Gallery to read about some of the Founders in our network.
Contact us if you want to be added, or know a great founder (dead or alive!) we should add to our Gallery.

We run creative networking events
Meeting up to share and inspire
We bring founders and other interested stakeholders together to share, learn, inspire, support and connect.
Our first event was hosted by EY at their London HQ with 45 social founders sharing their stories and journey, and their ambitions for the new Social Founder Network.
We've held two more lively and passionate events at EY London with brilliant speakers and passionate founder guests.
We'll be holding more events in the USA in October, and India in January and February.
Contact us if you are interested in co-hosting a future event with us, or if you have a topic or issue you'd like to discuss at an event.
We are a network of catalysts, change-makers and entrepreneurs - founders of social enterprises and charities across localities, countries and continents. We have a passion to create positive change, to innovate, and to harness other people's desire for change.
The Social Founder Network was set up in 2017 by Caroline Diehl and includes over 500 founders from large and small charities, social enterprises, foundations and community organisations. Originally launched in the UK, we are growing our network in different countries and continents.
We come from a mix of backgrounds, ages, experience and interests - we share in common our founder stories, passions and experiences - the good and the bad, the success and failures, the laughter and the tears.
We connect back to the powerful social founders of the past, and forward to future social founders, young and old.
Setting up the Social Founder Network
Caroline Diehl set up the Social Founder Network in 2017, after stepping down as
Founder CEO of Media Trust and becoming Executive Chair of Together TV
Caroline Diehl MBE
"Creating a network of social founders is a joy, and an exciting new challenge. I want to see social founders thrive, and be celebrated. I find their stories inspirational. As founder CEO of the Media Trust and Together TV - the UK television channel (previously Community Channel), and a founder trustee of the Small Charities Coalition, I know well both the challenges and rewards of being a founder in the social impact sector. "
Caroline Diehl MBE, Founder of the Social Founder Network, and Executive Chair & Founder of Together TV
Caroline founded the Media Trust in 1994, and launched the Community Channel (now called Together TV) in 2000. She was Chief Executive of both organisations until 2017, and is now Executive Chair at Together TV, which recently relaunched as a charitable Community Benefit Society - the world's first community-owned national TV channel.
Caroline lives in London, and is an Entrepreneur in Residence at INSEAD and a Governor of the East London NHS Foundation Trust. She set up the Social Founder Network in July 2017.
